At an Altitude….by Ram

As the aircraft sped through the runway, I felt that another journey has began touching the skies. It was an opportunity to key in my thoughts in a flight at thou-sands of feet above the sea level.

I could perceive that there a large space beneath me and nothing more. The Air-craft was cruising at a speed unimaginable to experience on the road and also surrounded with sub zero temperature. The body would be frozen to death, if ex-posed. Experiencing life at that altitude pushed me into wild imagination as to What would happen, if this aircraft in which I am traveling goes away and I am all alone experiencing these conditions.

It is beyond ones comprehension what will and would happen. Certainly, it is diffi-cult to know as a person what I would go through. In such imagination, one starts getting a broader view of realities one has to face through this life time.

I looked around the people, everyone tied to their seats. Few closed their eyes in a sense of prayer, as the aircraft lifted up from the ground. A air of silence surrounded everyone trying to feel the sudden change in situation. When the Sign of Seat belt was switched off, there was some restlessness to get up from the seat or readjust themselves. We adjusted ourselves to obey without a question, as the pilot wants us to be during different stages of this travel.

Some stayed calm and composed keeping themselves busy reading or listening to music. And some took the opportunity to sleep. I ventured into meditation, as I al-ways felt that I will be few meters of distance closer to God at that altitude.

A greater sense of awareness comes up at that altitude. Some of the distances travelled were calm and smooth. And, some disturbed with heavy bumpy rides negotiating turbulences. All one had was total faith on the pilot to take us through this journey safely. A state of total surrender, as one had no choice but to travel in spite of all these up and downs experiencing it. That faith always takes us to the destination we need to reach.

As we grow up, high and low becomes part of one’s success. Climbing up ladders of success materialistically or intellectually, one needs to stay connected to himself in the grace of divinity or the ultimate source. Being in tune with that higher con-sciousness every time guides in all actions that are required to be taken. In such a state of being, one surrenders himself to receive a divine vehicle that needs to support our travel through this life. You learn that simple art of Surrender to travel safe at any altitude of life.
