While traveling I do come across many beautiful souls who have different kind of fears.Fear of stepping out, fear of karma, fear of coming out of shell and so on. Lately I have been thinking a lot about why we Fear ??
Fear is usually defined as an anticipation of the possibility that something unpleasant will occur. This usually arises mostly out of past experiences which could be – fear for someone’s safety, a constant fear of running out of money, fear for my children’s future, for fear of the [any] consequences, the fear of God and so on and so forth.
In day to day life, if we see people are always suffering about either what happened yesterday or what may happen tomorrow. So, the suffering is always about that which does not exist.Simply because one is not rooted in reality, but always rooted in the mind.
Moving forward we should not think about Fear as something with touches of grey but also something which forewarns us about the coming danger which acts more like a sixth sense.Fear is one of the most basic human emotions,it is programmed into the nervous system and works like an instinct. Since our birth, we are equipped with the survival instincts necessary to respond with fear when we sense danger or feel unsafe. Fear helps protect us as it makes us alert to danger and prepares us to deal with it,feeling afraid is very natural — and helpful — in some situations.
Fear can be like a warning, a signal that cautions us to be careful.
So Like all emotions, fear can be mild, medium, or intense, depending on the situation and the person. A feeling of fear can be brief or it can last longer. Recently I read somewhere that FEAR has two meanings : ‘Forget Everything And Run’ or ‘Face Everything And Rise.’ The choice is ours.
Some people find the rush of fear exciting. They seek out the thrill of extreme sports and savor the scariest horror flicks.Others do not like the experience of feeling afraid or takings risks. I have often seen this happen and most of the time. I too go through the same experience – during the scariest roller-coaster rides some people think that they will never go back to that particular ride, while some find that ride so awesome that they are ready to go back on again for a second ride.
Whatever form of Fears we might be going through in our minds, I feel at one point of time we have to face and should face the fears within us. Whenever we are going through the emotions of Fear, its impossible to think clearly at that point. We should calm ourselves.I think the best thing to do at that time is to Distract ourselves and just move away from that thought/situation.
Avoiding fear will only make us scarier. So best is to face the situation and let the fear fade away. I believe the more we face the fear the more it runs away, I at times follow a simple rule if am faced with a situation where fear overtakes my mind, I think of what I would advise a friend in case they face this kind of situation and then simply follow the same steps myself. At times, I also visualize a happy moment or a place of safety to just calm me down. These positive feelings help me soothe and I feel more relaxed. Whenever I dread a call that I have to make and have gone though it, I reward myself with a bar of chocolate or something that I love to do. Its not easy but its not impossible.
So friends just signing off with a simple quote below.
F – face
E – everything
A – and
R – Rise
Enjoy your week, step out without fear and believe in the Divine within.

Indeed, fear is a symptom to take precautions, as it is a outcome of intuition promoting facing the situation or the thought. When that fear is just taken as a suggestion for our precaution, it acts good. But, when it is countered with more thoughts, it manifest into a BIG FEAR arresting us to standstill.
Some fear arises with experience of failure, when faced. Some hearing from others experience. Walking on the road with high traffic flow is dangerous. But, that fear cautions me to take precautions while walking, but not preventing me.
Facing it, is a willful decision one has to make. The strength for will comes with experiencing the situation and conditioning of our mind. The next time, such situation do not create fear in me.
Thank you for a wonderful thoughts. Certainly, it provoked me to think more about it.
