Cracked Pot Classy Pot..by Shanthi VB

All of us born into this beautiful big world has been blessed by the Almighty, with one or the other talent, which is unique of its kind, this is known to all. But we forget all of us are blessed with kindness, caring and sharing, being good to others and to spread unconditional love, with different relationships maybe. Issues arise as we tend to forget in the due course of our own various bearable and unbearable daily chores and long term problems. This makes us feel low and at times shy or ashamed, so we fail to look around the goodness spread without our knowledge as its in built in all of us. A small ancient story from the land of China goes so…… An elderly man had two large pots, hung on the ends of pole , which he used for carrying water across his neck. The stream was at a manageable distance, but still when he came back home, he had only one and a half pots of water, as one among them had cracks.

The perfect pot was proud that he served the best purpose, and the cracked one felt ashamed. This happened for a long time, and the old man never changed the pot. One day, after a long time, the cracked pot opened up and said to the old man, “I am ashamed, that I am of less use, as I leak water throughout the distance from the stream to the house, what is my use?” the old man replied, “don’t feel sorry about your flaw, you have done a commendable job”. The pot was surprised. The old man said, “ You have watered the seeds and saplings , throughout your journey. Our house pathway is filled with beautiful bright flowery plants. This has added glory to the house”. All of us are unique whether broken or perfect. Let’s add merit to whatever we have been sent for by the glorious Almighty.

Likewise the Almighty has given us strength, let us be kinder, generous, loving to all around. We will see transformation of self and the universe around. Even though it takes time, let’s try surrendering in total to the Lord and he alone shall lead as he is the shepered
